Road to Emmaus

My name is Wayne Mansfield, Table of Stephen. I just went on a 72 hour spiritual pilgrimage called an Emmaus Walk. Words can't describe what I experienced this weekend. I have been on a number of Ski Trips, Men's campouts, and Retreats, none of these can compare to what I experienced this weekend. I was told by my father-n-law to enjoy the moment, don't anticipate anything, just participate. From the moment I arrived I was overwelmed by God's love for me by the acts of kindness I recieved from brother Christians. This weekend has strengthend my relationship with Jesus Christ. It has changed my priorities on life. God is now number one and my wife number two, and myself number 3. In the past I put myself first ahead of God and my wife. The highpoint of this weekend was when I was laying face down on the chapel floor praying and asking God to forgive me of my past sins and realizing I had to forgive myself. This is the point where God broke me down with his love for me and then buildt me back up with that same love. We celebrated Communion daily along with time in the Chapel and quiet meditations and small group discussions. The group of guys I meet there, their friendships will last a lifetime. There are many more things that happened this weekend that are better left as a surprise. It was held in Merom, IN in a building dating back into the 1850's which was an old Seminary and Christian College.

Hey Wayne!!
Its Angie H from a former church you went to a little south of where you are now. How have you been? Kim said she has seen you. I like your blog. Haven't had time to read the whole thing but it looks good so far. I found you by clicking on Third Day as a favorite music on my own blog. Great to connect! Hope you are doing well.

Wayne, this reteat you went on sounds fantastic. Will it be offered again? Is it just for men? Is there a book you used?

I am praying for your Mom and your wife and baby to come. I hope they all are doing well. That is so cool that you are going to be a Dad.

Your sister in Christ,

Angie
